The Story of the Game Black people Play/ Trilogy

KICKING THE GAME AROUND WITH THE GRANDKIDS

Turning the Black world right side up

because Slavery turned it upside down

The Game is much more than just putting money in your pocket and sex in your bedroom, as important as those things are, it contains powerful historical values related to Black life itself. The Story of the Game Black People Play Trilogy  uses a street-literature format to introduce these historical values in a language and stage in life that Black people of all ages can relate to.

In the cosmic world of ideas, the definition and dynamics of the Game, on its deepest and highest level, is not only pulled together in a story  about the physical and spiritual drama in Grandpa’s life as he comes of age on the streets and in penitentiaries, but it also takes you on an adventure in Grandpa learning about the details of the Games Black people played in Ancient West Africa, we played in Slavery, we played in the Civil War, we played in the Harlem Renaissance, we played in the 1960’s Civil Rights Movement, and how they are related to the Game the Hip-hop Grandkids played in the 1980s, and the Hip-hop Great Grandkid's Creativity to be played out in the twenty-first century. This brings  Grandpa's memoirs in line with Black life, Black history,  and Ancient West African history.

The Game’s claim to fame is that its roots are in the creativity of Ancient West African Spirituality and Intellectuality, and it frees up Black people’s minds to create a way out of no-way. This means that you, as a Black person, automatically bring creativity to what ever Game you are playing as an individual, as well as the Game Black people are playing as a group; this creativity is Black people's salvation, you only go as far as your Game will take you, one step at a time.

The Game's mind freed the creativity in people and took them to different places and times. This is what happened in the 1920s, once Marcus Garvey demanded, “Up, you mighty race, accomplish what you will;” this freed my mother and father’s generation’s mind to create the “New Negro:” and declare war on racism. And when Malcolm X made the statement in the1960s, “By any means necessary,” my generation’s creativity exploded into the "Civil Rights Movement," and led the attack on racism; things changed in a big way. Another example of mind freedom is how Hip-hop music, especially Biggie and Tupac, freed up the Hip-hop Generation’s mind, and your creativity has exploded on the social and economic scene, and things will never be the same again.

Because, it is this creative use of the Game that governs Black people’s actions and re-actions to life. And Black's actions and re-actions to life creates the experience of Black history.  The Game doesn’t change, the only thing changing is the name; old school becomes new school, and the beat goes on and on forming the soul stream of Black’s existence.

Like I said, the Game is much more than just putting money in your pocket and sex your bedroom, it contains powerful historical values related to Black life itself, which turned the Black world right side up after slavery turned it upside down.
